Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball iPhone App: MyFantasyTeam

If you’re looking for an easier way to access your Yahoo! Fantasy baseball team on the iPhone, the MyFantasyTeams ($3.99, link ) app gives you almost full team-management access in an iPhone-friendly way. And it also supports football, basketball, and hockey, so you can keep using the app year round. The app’s main advantage over just accessing Yahoo’s fantasy site is that you only need enter your ID and password once. Every time you launch the app you are automatically logged on. The app offers almost all of the functionality of Yahoo’s website. You can: edit your lineup browse and add free agents propose and accept trades post and read from the message board view league standings access live scores and news supports multiple teams/leagues I’ve had the app for a while and found is mostly useful for quickly checking out your team’s performance and league standings. The interface is clunky, and it’s frustrating to browse through free agents and sort by stats. The stats are cluttered together and hard to read—the app needs a serious visual overhaul. But it’s fine for keeping tabs on your teams. If you’re playing Yahoo! Fantasy Football , we recommend the official Yahoo! football app instead

Gibson Learn & Master Guitar App: Free Tuner & Metronome

The Gibson Learn & Master Guitar app (free, link ) is a guitarist’s Swiss army knife. And it’s as free as a bird now. The app has 4 features that should come in hand to all guitarists, a tuner, a metronome, chord book, and lesson videos. The chromatic tuner uses the iPhone’s microphone and can tune any instrument. It also has settings for alternate guitar tunings as well. The app can play tones so that you can tune by ear. For the rhythmically challenged, the app comes with a metronome that beats out the time along with a lever for adjusting BPM (beats per minute). There are settings for multiple time signatures as well—the standard 4/4 as well as 2/3 , 3/4 , and none ). The coolest feature is the ability to tap out your own tempo. Simply hit the Tap Tempo button several times at the speed you want, then app will compute the tempo after a few seconds

Poot! 5 Interesting iPhone Farting Apps

Everyone loves a good farting app… right? While I sometimes fail to see the attraction, there’s no doubt that fart apps are very popular. By my count, there are at least 300 fart apps in the iTunes store, and that’s probably a conservative estimate. Needless to say, they’re good for a laugh and if you have kids, these apps will entertain them for hours. 1. Fart Piano Deluxe You can’t discuss fart apps without mentioning a farting piano app. Fart Piano Deluxe ($0.99, iTunes link ) lets you play different songs on the fart piano, including Ode to Joy, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and The Chicken Dance. There’s also a weird food tie-in, as choosing a specific food before your song (taco, hot dog, cheese, etc.) will “influence the tonality of your farts.” 2. iFart Mobile iFart Mobile ($0.99, iTunes link ) includes the standard farting noises, but the developers should get some credit for their very, uh, creative names

App Review: Pastebot, Excellent iPhone Clipboard Manager

Pastebot ($2.99, link ) is probably the world’s best designed clipboard manager. It’s clear that a lot of thought and refinement went into making the app. Even though those who require its features is likely a narrow audience, the app is currently the best way to store and manage chunks of text and move them in and out of the iPhone’s clipboard.

Game Review: Pocket Chef

Pocket Chef ($4.99, link) is Gameloft’s rift on Nintendo’s rather popular Cooking Mama games. And much like Cooking Mama, Pocket Chef has you playing a series of cooking minigames in order to complete an entire recipe in the best time, with the best results possible. Pocket Chef is based around a series of recipes, grouped into kitchens of five recipes each. You start with “American”—cheeseburgers, pizzas, french toast, etc; and after completing all five recipes a new set of five are unlocked—as well as a new kitchen. The recipes themselves are broken down into minigames, like chopping vegetables, rolling dough, spreading sauce, grilling burgers and the like
